This is a Karaoke machine that has been designed to be portable and for the older child. It is manufactured by a company called Maono, which has some representation in Holland. It has a peak output of 30 watts with 20 watts RMS and has a 6.5-inch woofer and piezo tweeter that delivers the sound.
The volume is actually surprisingly loud for such a small unit, and it does produce in stereo. The actual quality of the sound, though, does leave a bit to be desired. It can be used as a karaoke machine but also just to play music. As we have already mentioned, though, the quality of the sound is not that good. It comes with a wireless handheld microphone, it’s not the best wireless microphone you can get, but it does the job. There is a USB flash port to play music that is also used to recharge the machine. And a small LED on the front with some strip flashing lights down one side.
There are plenty of controls situated on the top of the unit. Volume, treble, and bass ard obvious requirements included. The addition of an echo facility for the voice is a nice touch.

There is also an easily placed on/off rocker switch, plug socket for the mic, and a dedicated microphone volume and an AUX-in and a USB port. Hanmun is not really an audio company; they are more involved with kids and their playtime. This karaoke machine is more a toy than a serious attempt at making a karaoke machine. It is still hours of fun for kids, though, which is good news.
It has an adjustable stand with a microphone. The stand roses to a full height of 42 inches. It is therefore really only suitable for very young children. Possible age suitability would be between 4 years and eleven years. With adult supervision, the age could be lowered a little.
Flashing lights…
It is made of plastic and is designed in such a way as to very easy to set up and pack away after use. It has connections to plug in your personal devices, including MP3, phone, or tablet. How Old Are The Children?
Quite an important point, though we suppose it is stating the obvious. Nevertheless, the age of the child is relevant to the type of machine you will buy
If They Are Very Young…
Maybe if they are under 10, then our view is they won’t be so bothered about sound quality. The very young ones will be impressed with lots of color on the machine. Flashing disco lights, and that is probably about all. They love to sing along, and the sound quality of the music will be far less important than the visuals.
Where the children are small, safety is an issue. A quick check to ensure the materials used do not contain any harmful toxins might be good. So will just making sure that there is nothing that can be swallowed. Battery operated machines might also be better as then there is no mains supply to think about.
With the younger ones…
The karaoke machines tend to be a bit toy-like. That is because that is what they are. That is ok, at that age it is not serious. The downside is that the build quality might also be toy-like. That means it might be a bit vulnerable. In setting up and taking down, care will need to be taken to make sure nothing is broken.
But special care must be taken with the microphone. This an area that is at risk. It is being used most of the time, placed down, picked up. It won’t be a Shure SM58, so it probably won’t appreciate knocks. In our review list, there were some excellent karaoke machines for kids. You are sure to find something to suit. If They Are A Bit Older…
